I was trying to come up with a definition or reason for a woman that becomes iconic, and I came up with this: they all carry the same denomination of femininity, creativity & strength. They have something beyond just their beauty that captivates you and keeps you enchanted. They redefine the ultimate cool girl. The bar has been raised to require brains, perseverance and worldliness. You don't just want to be like them, but you learn from them. They are fearless & use their strength & personality to get your attention.

i have a lot of time to dream
...and i dreamt a little dream, that i was waiting for you on my balcony but you never came
i was dressed in the most perfect backless dress
....instead of running to find a new you, cause I knew I could, I went to my writing desk
sat down in my little black dress
red wine
red lips
and i started to work on things that make me happy,
create things that I can call mine

cause sometimes you wait for something & it never comes. you have to make it happen for yourself.
watch out now, next time it might be you that's doing the waiting. bet my backside is going to start looking a lot more familiar now.

spotted: trend jewelry competition

We all know every girl loves diamonds...even hipsters (don't cringe, you know you do!!)....and for most of us, expensive jewelry is out of our reach. Enter: Trend Jewelry...and I don't mean from Claire's....REAL trend jewelry.

Remember when you were 16 in the late 90s, in catholic high school, and just dying for a spiked knuckle ring??? Oh wait, that was me.

WELL! now we have #luvaj, #pursenboots, #houseofharlow, #bcbgmaxazria, #elizabethandjames, #bellenoel, #natalieb...and my fav #sunaharA..to mention a few.

Good thing a few 21 year old privileged gals with some design skills realized there was a market for this. We are hard working beautiful girls - and deserve beautiful jewelry to help us scream out to the world what else but..... "fuck you"!!!

idream: of being the queen

Who said it isn't possible? Mr. McQueen had a great way of combining the horrific with the glam. He captures emotion and a propensity to be marvelously intriguing in his clothing....even if you weren't actually queen...you could at least make people think you are ;)

ilove: rocker chic

The amazing thing about fashion ads is that it captures fashion history, which to date hasn't been collectively put together. I am not sure what year this Chanel ad is from - but it is still amazing & I would totally wear that dress!!!

ispot: inspiration

I have been collecting fashion editorials & ads since junior high & have a few favorites which I have saved in my photobucket account from back in 2004..oh my. Moschino has always been a favorite of mine - not that I can afford any of their clothing (...yet... ;) )  ...but their ad campaigns have always been breathtaking and most importantly, different. The brand is an Italian bred brand & has always incorporated a hybrid of edgy & elegant outfits. Their clothing is always fun, daring, & ridiculously sophisticated....I would imagine wearing a Moschino ensemble from head to toe would make one feel like they could be a different person just for one ridiculously fun day ;)

iam: high maintenance

I LOVE this editorial from Nippon Vogue's September editorial from 2009.

a.) There's absolutely nothing wrong with being high maintenance ;) As long as you continue to say please & thank you, just make sure you always know your worth & don't ever feel guilty for wanting more out of life - whether it's a fancy new rock or heels...whatever makes you happy is all that matters.

b.) Don't ever be afraid to blend similar but different prints as this one. The pop of colored heels & added belt is genius, but it takes some gut to rock two different prints.
